Linholme Motor Sports ClubRobin Hood Forest Stages 10th & 11th March 2007

2009 Rally Outline

The Robin Hood Forest Stages Rally 2009
Supported by Copcutt Toyota Worksop; The Alternative Sign Centre; and Methos IT Consulting

Lindholme Motor Sports Club Limited is proud to announce the 32nd running of its annual stages rally. A new feature this year will see the Modern cars tackling the 2-day format (with Saturday night stages) for the first time.

We very much welcome new support for the rally from Copcutt Toyota Main Dealers, Worksop, and Methos IT Consulting. Equally, continued support from Craig Dykes and The Alternative Sign Centre is very much appreciated. They all provide a very valuable contribution to help ensure the event’s success. Please visit the web sites as shown in their advertisements to obtain further information on their products and services.

The Supplementary Regulations are due to be published in early January. With an eye on costs and paper usage, we would like to encourage entrants to download the SRs from the website, along with the Entry Form. Electronic payment isn’t available this year, but we hope to offer this in future. A paper copy of the SRs, should you require it, will still be available on application to the Entries Secretary.

2009 will see the 13th running of the Historic event, with the event counting towards the HRCR Category 1 Challenge, the Mini 50 Cup, the HRCR Northern Historic Championship, and the ANEMMC and ANWCC Historic Championships. The Modern event is a round of the ANCC, ANEMMC, ANWCC and EMAMC regional association championships.

The National B Modern and Historic rallies begin with 3 forest stages in the dark on the Saturday evening, and a further 5 stages on the Sunday, with a combined total of approximately 41 miles.

The National B HRCR Category 1 Challenge and Mini 50 Cup entrants will contest the three Saturday stages and four further stages on the Sunday, giving a total of 31 miles of the best Sherwood tracks we can find.

The rally will offer a very compact route, with Scrutineering, Rally HQ, stages all in close proximity, and with the Sunday Service halt located at Clipstone North forest.

Rally HQ moves to a new location at the South Forest Leisure Centre, Edwinstowe, where drinks and food will be available on both Saturday and Sunday evenings. There is a swimming pool for those who wish to take a dip, but there are no hotel rooms. Anyone wishing to stay overnight in the area is advised to make use of the accommodation information which we hope to post on the rally website.

Scrutineering also features a new venue – at Mechanical Solutions’ premises on Boughton Industrial Estate, Ollerton, Notts. The owner, Nigel Lewis, also operates Classic Occasions car restoration service on this site.

Our prime aim, as ever, is to organise a friendly, efficient and competitive event, and we look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones. We hope that the new rally format offers an enjoyable challenge.

Len Fowkes – Rally Director, Ian Beech – Clerk of the Course
