OCTOBER 2002
Right after misleading you, as I had been, the Dinner Dance date is now booked and set in stone and is Saturday the 18th January 2003 - not the dates quoted last month . Sincere apologies for messing you about, there has been problems due to date clashes. More details including a menu and prices will be published in the November Tappits by Dave Pope so be ready to make your booking early.
The articles on the Trackrod MC event in Tappits speak for themselves - all I will say is it was a most enjoyable weekend and thankfully the weather stayed dry.
We have an old scribe with a new tale this month - Roy stood in for me after I'd been invited by Ian to go to Dijon only to realise it clashed with the Festival of Transport at Gainsborough.
Talking of Gainsborough - I'd like to thank all those who helped out by bringing their cars or in Dave James' case his caravan. Without it and it's awning the display boards would have blown away. Dave had some friends who turned up with 3 original Camel Trophy Landrovers which helped pull in the punters. Another member who stopped us all in our tracks was James Parker - talk about still waters run deep. See if you can guess one of his skills by looking at this part - photo.
