First - A timely reminder of the Annual General Meeting. Please, your Club really does need you, your ideas and your input. If you have a bit of time to spare each month then please consider joining us on the Committee. As it's now getting pretty full of coffin dodgers like myself it would be nice to have some new blood. You don't have to take on any time consuming position or duties but anyone willing to take on my own role for a year or so whilst I take a sabbatical please take a step forward …. All support, guidance and training will be given as necessary - and free of charge.

The meeting on the 21st July will start at 8.45 prompt so please aim to arrive for 8.30 so you can get your drink and fight for that front row seat.

I'm very pleased to inform you that our fellow member and Stage Rally sponsor now has a son to follow in his footsteps. Craig and Katie Dykes are now the proud parents of a son, Thomas, who weighed in at a little under the weight of Craig's crash helmut at 5lbs 7 ozs. Congratulations to you both and hopefully see you soon. [Maybe it's time to get Thomas used to the sound of the Autotests.] Congratulations are also on the cards for two other members, Graham and Cheryl Sadler who were married recently. Best wishes to you both and hope to see you soon.

For all you road and competition motorheads, the Club has recently received details of a Owners and Enthusiasts Club Oil Scheme from Opie Oils of Redruth, Cornwall. It includes mineral, semi and fully synthetic oils from all the major companies such as Castrol, Fuchs, Mobil, Silkolene and Total. The emailed information is too extensive to include in the newsletter but if you see me on Club nights I'll give you full details. If you want to investigate it further on't t'internet have a look at www.opieoils.co.uk/lubricants.htm If they have any decent smelling Diff oil I'll buy some for Ian Wright ready for when he asks Adrian and me to change the Diff at Oulton Park as we did when at Rockingham - see below.

STOP PRESS - Sadly with all good news there is often bad. I've added a brief obituary section onto the What's On page which gives details of the recent loss of two of the Clubs friends. It's losing friends like this that brings to mind Sting's As I didn't have an image in my archive for Dave Saunders I would like to thank Ian Hardy for his contribution taken from his website at www.ianhardy.net/gallery/robinhood03
