Free ……. A nice word in anyone's mind. Even better when it comes from the MSA. Looks like we'll be getting a present through the mail - at least all those who managed to register on the on the MSA Marshals Register before 1st January this year should …See Wheels for details.
Some things that aren't free but, for marks out of ten you wouldn't expect them to be……….Now we are getting longer light and may I say dry weekend evenings, there's a couple of things you may like to do.

For you music lovers - I've added details, later in Tappits, of concerts in our "local" Forest Parks. If they interest you, make it known to others so maybe a group of members can make a night of it. Question is who'll draw the short straw to be driver for the evening.

For you petrol heads - something very different for a Friday evening. I've received an offer from a friend at work for an evenings Gliding - yeh - no engine in these babies.
So if you really want a quick adrenalin burst why not try something exciting, with an evening to remember. We are in the process of arranging an exclusive flying evening for Club Members and friends at the Dukeries Gliding Club situated adjacent to the A1 near the A614 Clumber roundabout. If we can get enough interest we will run the event from 6.00pm onwards on a date to be determined.
A £5.00 deposit secures a place and it works like this ………. The cost of monthly membership is £20 which includes your first flight, additional flights are £4.00 for the launch and 0.25p / min (£19.00 / hour), this includes free instruction on how to fly.

(Flying takes place on all weekends, any budding pilots could take advantage of a special deal -- ' to fly solo for a fixed price'.) Shown left is 1 of 3 gliders that will be flying on the night.

Go on, Go on, Go on, have a go ……… Names to me ASAP please.

The 2003 Dukeries Rally takes place on June 21st and will again based in Mansfield with Lindholme manning Clipstone South - See Len's Lines.
This will be one of the first major events to use the new FM Radio Safety Frequency, which becomes mandatory from 1st June 2003.
The event should again be supplying a comprehensive event handbook to all marshals & radio crews containing information on the stages, timings, officials, entry list, marshals instructions etc as well as a 2003 pin badge.
